On November 15, 2024, we achieved an incredible milestone—SoftSocket won the Swiss finals of the global innovation competition Red Bull Basement! Competing against over 130 applications from across Switzerland, we secured our victory with a strong pitch and our clear mission: to revolutionize sports prosthetics.
After an AI-assisted application, we were selected as one of the Top 20 teams and needed to submit a one-minute pitch video to convince Red Bull that we deserved a spot in the finals. One week later, we already found ourselves at the grand finale at the Westhive Co-Working Space in Zurich.
That final was an unforgettable experience—our biggest public pitch so far, in front of more than 50 audience members and an expert jury. The jury consisted of Eugenie Nicoud (Entrepreneur), Andrew Reid (Microsoft), Christian Dotzauer (AMD), and Toni Kurz (Entrepreneur). Standing among nine exceptional finalists, we were inspired by the creativity and bold ideas presented. The atmosphere was electric, and we felt the excitement as we shared our vision with the audience and the jury. When SoftSocket was announced as the winner, it was a surreal moment—a validation of our hard work and dedication to making a real difference.
Now, the next chapter takes us to Tokyo! In mid-December, we will represent Switzerland on the global stage, competing against 40 teams from around the world. We are looking forward to connect with like-minded innovators, gain valuable insights, and push our mission forward.
